As said, I’m Raphaël — the “Raph” in Raph & Joy. This is our story of my mom (Lac) and I. We moved from Belgium 🇧🇪 to Madison 🇺🇸 in August 2024, and we brought something important with us: our obsession with Belgian treats.

I’ve loved food since I was little — always sniffing pans, sneaking bites, and begging for waffles 🧇. My mom has always cooked with this gentle, nostalgic pride — every recipe a link back to her childhood in Belgium.

At some point, my curiosity for food turned into something bigger — I wanted to create, not just eat. And when my mom noticed that spark, she said, “Let’s build something real together.” That’s how Raph & Joy was born.

Our mission is simple:
Bring the taste and warmth of Belgium to our new home in Madison.

We bake the classics we grew up with — carefully, faithfully, joyfully — and we share them with people here, hoping to create moments worth remembering.
Because food is not only food — it’s memory, culture, and happiness you can hold in your hand.
